They're baacckkk!

Hey everyone! I'm back & braided up for the summer. My wonderful mother again slaved over my scalp to create the beautiful long Patra braids! Patra braids are basically thick + jumbo + long box braids; almost reminscient of Janet Jackson Poetic Justice Box Braids. I've had them in for a few weeks now and plan on taking them out at the end of July. Check out my latest YouTube videos on my braid review and how I style my braids down below. Also, I finally reached over 1,000 subscribers on YouTube!!!! So I will be doing a giveaway very soon (please bear with me, I have been extremely busy with life in these recent weeks lol). However, I'm stuck as to what I should give away! What do you guys think, what kind of (reasonably priced) goodies would you like to receive? Leave your feedback down below. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel and blog (if you haven't done so already) to participate. Love y'all <3

XOXO,
Simone

New YouTube Video | DIY Ombre Braids

Hey y'all!

I have made another YouTube video for my channel, NaturalistaNeff. This one is on how to create an ombre look with box braids. I used Jerome Russell Temporary Hair Color Spray in Honey Blonde and I love the results! It's a very subtle imitation of a dip dye ombre. It's super easy, cheap, and non-permanent! Check out my video below for a talk through of how to achieve this look with your box braids or other styles you don't want to permanently dye! Thanks for reading/watching.

Simone

Elegant High Bun Tutorial

Hey ya'll,
I made a quick YouTube video tutorial on how I achieved my "Elegant High Bun" look with box braids. It's great for a night of going out or even in a professional arena. Please check it out & tell me what you think! Thank you very much.

First Outfit Of The Day!

Cardigan: Urban Outfitters // Polka Dot Top: Walmart // High Waist Pants: American Apparel // Boots: Forever 21 // Accessories: Aldo Accessories

This is my first Outif Of The Day post! I'm no fashionista but I just thought I'd give it a try. The newest item I'm wearing is the yellow cardigan from Urban Outfitters. Found it on the sale rack for $9.99! That's pretty much a steal for a store so high in price. The enormous gold hoops are my favorite pair of earrings in my accessory wardrobe. It adds a hint of "Shanaynay" to my outfits lol. But I try to refrain from being ratchet. It's just a bold accessory statement for me. The boots from Forever 21 are becoming my favorite pair of shoes this fall. They are super comfy and add a little height and class to my outfits. The polka dot strapless top is a cheap top I bought from Walmart three summers ago. It used to be one of my favorites to wear, but now I just wear under shirts or cardigans. Lastly, the American Apparel pants have been on my want list for some months now. While I was down in Philly, my boyfriend was kind enough to buy these expensive babies for me ($78)! But it is an item that I haven't owned in my wardrobe until then.

I don't know how often I'll do OOTD's, I just wanted to add some variety to my blog. But we'll see how things pan out. For now, thanks for reading & enjoy the rest of your evening.

Simone

Poetic Justice Inspired Box Braids + YouTube Channel

Hello world! Last week my mom installed some jumbo box braids (Poetic Justice/Janet Jackson inspired) & I looooveee them! It took about a total of 12 hours to install the waist length braids & I used about 8 packs on Kanekalon (spell-check) synthetic hair. I haven't really played around with new styles with them yet simply because there is so much hair to manage! In the next few weeks I will be playing around trying to put in high buns, trying out different patterns for head scarfs, and much more. It was perfect timing for me to get these braids because I am actually participating in The Good Hair Blog Protective Style Challenge (TGHBPSC) for a 3 month period. Myself & about 100 more transitioning/ natural women are participating. If you're interested in joining, click here

Some even more exciting news....I started a YouTube channel! I've been wanting to do this for a while so I finally built up the courage to start one up. I will try to up date at least once a week, depending on the topics. If you could please just support me by checking it out and like, comment, and subscribe. I'll post my very first video below. Your support is much appreciated! Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day.
